Our story

The truck came first.

Tako N’ Madre built its name the hard way — out of a food truck, one order at a time, until people started following it around Siouxland. The brick-and-mortar came after the reputation, not before it.

The cooking is Southern California: the quesataco with its cheese fried straight onto the griddle, birria with a cup of consommé to dip, and a Cali burrito that puts the fries on the inside where they belong. It is not the Mexican food most of the tri-state grew up with. That’s the point.

What people say

Five stars, three times.

★★★★★

“The atmosphere and service complemented the meal, but the fish taco was the highlight of my visit. It offered the kind of flavor and freshness that keeps me thinking about it long after the meal is over. If I returned to Tako N’ Madre, ordering the fish tacos again would be an easy decision. They delivered a satisfying mix of texture, flavor, and freshness that made them one of the most memorable items I tried.”

“We were told to go here by a local. The food was fantastic! We ordered the Cali Burrito, Cali fries, 2 steak quesadillas, and a beef burrito. We will definitely going back to try more items on their menu.”
